Volunteer Program

FACE relies exclusively on volunteers for its leadership and programming. The primary role of volunteers is to facilitate restorative justice circles. Facilitators receive a full weekend of training, and work in pairs.  They do preparation work before a circle, including conducting initial interviews with participants (which could take up 3 to 6 hours over a few weeks), and then lead the circle (2-3 hours long).  Facilitators are not asked to do more than one circle every three months.

Volunteers can also provide support through:

  •  leadership on the Board of Directors,
  • assisting with administrative support,
  • fundraising,
  • writing or formatting an occasional newsletter,
  • attending youth and adult criminal court to ensure people know that this program is an option, and
  • promotion of the program in the community.

We periodically provide Volunteer Facilitator Training sessions. These will be listed in the "Upcoming Events" section of our home page as new training sessions are planned.  Even if there is no training date planned at this time, feel free to submit your name and contact information to us, and we'll be sure to let you know when the next training date is set.

If you would like to inquire about our present volunteer needs and explore working with us, please get in touch.
