STAYNER - Police say that around 4 p.m. on Mon., May 10 they responded to an assault at Stayner Collegiate Institute.An OPP investigation revealed a 17-year-old male assaulted a 15-year-old male. Upon learning of the incident, school staff notified police. Both males left the school before police arrived but the 17-year-old was located the following day off school property and arrested.

A potentially violent incident was averted at a Bradford high school May 14. At about 2:07 p.m., police attended the school after receiving a report about a student uttering death threats. The accused had a knife and allegedly indicated he would use it as a weapon.
